After a two-year battle with brain cancer, Danielle passed away two months shy of her 21st birthday.

Since her death, the Zfat family, their friends and family have been supporting the American Brain Tumor Association. However, we all face different battles. Below are direct links to the donation pages of various organizations that are making strides in medical research, and patient and family support.

All we ask is that when you make your donation, you make it “In the name of Danielle Zfat.”

Often, the most precious gift is doing a kind act for another. If you can’t make a donation (or even if you can) please consider doing an act of “niceness” in Danielle’s honor – whether it’s buying a Starbucks for the person behind you in line, volunteering at a local homeless shelter – or spending an afternoon helping a friend move out of their apartment. We’d love to hear your stories in the comments below.

Let’s do our part, and in the words of Danielle, “Be nice.

For 46 years, the ABTA has been providing comprehensive resources that support the complex needs of brain tumor patients and caregivers, as well as the critical funding of research in the pursuit of breakthroughs in brain tumor diagnosis, treatment and care.

The mission of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation is to prevent and cure breast cancer by advancing the world’s most promising research.

The American Cancer Society’s mission is to end cancer through funding and conducting research, sharing expert information, supporting patients, and spreading the word about prevention.

The Homeless Voice houses, feeds, and finds jobs for anyone who is homeless.

The Kids In Need Foundation’s mission is to ensure that every child is prepared to learn and succeed in the classroom by providing free school supplies nationally to students most in need.

  3. Beautiful Daniel, a curly girl full of joy, remembers you as a kind person who wants to help everyone, smiling and sociable.
Remember every time you came to the kibbutz we would meet with the company and go for a drink in the pub next to you were a fun girl to hang out with all the time with good and positive energy.
    Miss you!!

  4. The Verges family misses Danielle. We love her always for the kindness she showed our daughter Madeleine. We fondly remember her and the entire Zfat crew on beaches and cruises together. Heidi and I were so happy when Jackson and Danielle were both in college in NYC. Having Danielle in our lives has made us happier and made us better. She is remember fondly particularly when our family of 7 has a rare chance to get together – every time we are all together, the conversation sooner or later turns to Danielle.

  6. Danielle Zfat not only had the innate ability to illuminate a room but also each heart and soul of every person she came in contact with. No matter who you were, she made you feel like somebody important. It was during the most immense loss of my lifetime, my father I was 48 and not equipped to deal with the emotions-she entered my life in a big way. She would often stop over after school on her way home to break up the commute and was such a strong and fierce force for doing good deeds, being kind, and always had a smile and an uncanny way of making everything better. I believe if we still had her here with us today in the physical form; she would not be getting her hair or nails done-she would be at the Chabad or some other organizations risking her own health during this pandemic to feed others so with her movie star smile. She was simply amazing in every aspect of her life and as sad as I was for her to endure the diagnosis that has no happy ending or cure; to date— she lived a good loving life filled with amazing family and friends albeit too short it was robust with nothing but love and laughter. May cancer be no more. You are the most beautiful angel of all.
